Posting Jin the Scientist

Ok. Been very quiet these few days, busy doing things, things you don’t wanna know about. Apart from the casual farts early mornings and late afternoons, nothing really extra ordinary comes our way this week.
Except for, like, on Monday, I’ve decided that the garden was little bit on the messy side and many dried leaves needed trimming. So I was in the garden the whole day. The result was cool, and the garden now looks tidier and greener.

Farah messed her car bad on Sunday by the way. It’s either she thought that her car is a Humvee or she was doing MPPJ a favour by inspecting the durability of the council’s road curbs. She came home with a bruised arm and a car that seems to be travelling straight but the steering wheel was facing east. Kereta dia berjalan macam ketam. Even Ah Chai the mechanic couldn’t imagine how she did it. Marvel woman.

Then on Tuesday,

“Darling, I think I wanna buy the kids a new PC lah. Then they can spend their time on it, when they are with us “

Jeng Jeng Jeng..... In my head [ Core 2 DUO, tonnes of RAM, Grizzlabytes of disk space, mega mega bytes of dedicated graphic memory, 100s of inches of LCD display, Super duper turbo murbo jumbo, 1000 Horse power etc etc ]

“Berapa you nak spend ? “

“Two thousand plus”

Duhhhhhh ... the image of that super turbo mumbo machine faded faster than I could say Windows Vista. I checked the prices of HP, Dell, Lenovo and with that kind of money, it’s like buying a Kancil for the price of Perdana when what I really wanted is a Ferrari. Kinda shitty kan.

After much thoughts, we would be glad if we could end up with a Mercedes Benz S Class for a price of a Toyota. That would be cool and I would the kids would enjoy the PC better. That’s decided then, but the only way we could get away with it, is for me to build the PC from scratch.

I made a trip to the Digital Mall in section 14 PJ, looking for parts and pieces of the soon to be built PC. I was like in the mall for ages, partly looking for first-rate bargains and partly ogling at the amoys selling handphones. Ahaks.. After countless exciting hours, a hefty parking ticket, a filled to the brim shopping trolley and an empty stomach, I was home, ready to build the dream machine. All the anticipation and the possibilities of me to imitate the likes of Mr Gates, Mr Dell and Mr Packard somehow made me feel 20 years younger. I even thought, I had more hair on that particular day, or was it just my imagination.

Anyway, my laboratory (the makeshift dining table) looked really busy and important like. Not too different from Grissom’s lab in Vegas or a NASA engine room. Cables and carton boxes were all over the floor, and I even darkened the room a little to make it look real important. The only thing missing in that scene was a couple of scantily clad cute lab assistants in white fussing over this rocket scientist.

That was 2 Windows Vista days ago, and now here I am, after my failed attempt on cooking beef paprik earlier this evening, I am proudly blogging on this newest, spanking coolest, powerfulest, shinies and cantikest machine ever to be built by a Jin. Did I sounded like I was bragging a little here folks ? Tak kot, macam budak baru dapat Jedi punya lightsaber kat Toy’r’us adalah..Rela tak makan. Hehehe..
